“Holiday Homework Sucks!”
At Focused Education we often hear that “Holiday Homework Sucks”. High school can be a difficult time for a teenager with a learning difficulty. The pressure on adolescent students today is enormous. We find the teenagers that visit our tutors often experience anxiety related to classwork or unrealistic expectations of classroom teachers.
Tips for High School homework in the School Holidays.
1. Keep it simple, measurable and targeted. Homework that supports and improves areas of weakness can be beneficial for Dyslexic teens if it the remedial tutoring support is specifically designed for Dyslexia.
2. Have fun whilst learning. It’s the holidays! Make sure that games and enjoyment are part of the holiday academic revision program.
3. Exercise before learning. Focused Education’s research has found a strong link between short bursts of oxygen burning exercise and improved learning in the Dyslexic Brain.
