Why is my child having learning difficulties at school?
Many children experience learning difficulties for short periods of time in primary school or high school. It’s normal for children to have peaks and troughs in their academic performance. Sometimes a learning difficulty may be obvious early in a child’s school life. That’s when talking to your child’s classroom teacher or learning difficulties specialist may help.
Talking with your child’s classroom teacher is very important.
Parent/teacher interviews can be intimidating and at times stressful. Parents often feel these emotions during and after the interview process. Mums and Dads sometimes don’t realise that teachers often feel this way too. Parents have a tough job and so do teachers. Sometimes advice from caring specialist professionals can help the Parent/Teacher/Child relationship enormously.

Many of our staff are teachers themselves. We encourage an open, collaborative relationship between all caregivers and stakeholders involved in supporting a child with a learning difficulty such as Dyslexia or ADHD.
“My child’s learning difficulties don’t change. They have been struggling in class since they started school”.
If your child’s difficulties have been present from the beginning of Pre-Primary or Prep then it might be time to attend a learning difficulties appointment at Focused Education. We are the “Learning Difference Specialists”.
